Two or more exciter branches (28-30) can be supplied with power independently of each other. Voltages can be fed to these exciter branches independently of each other. Each exciter branch is assigned with a full bridge system (38-40). A power supply device (34) on the exciter branches adjusts sinusoidal flows of current with limited amplitude. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) A power supply device for an electronically commutated motor; (B) and for a means of storage with a power supply device for an electronically commutated motor; (C) and for a method for supplying power to an electronically commutated motor with two or exciter branches and a rotor.
