Dry running water meter`s illegal manipulation indicating device has upper and lower parts, in which the lower part (15) is supported on a lower plate (1) of a water meter. A cylindrical head of the lower part stays in a force-fit manner with an opening in a base of the upper part by a cross band (17), where the parts overlap. The overlapping is reduced as the upper part is pressed down when a transparent cover of the meter bends such that the upper part falls down from the lower plate.
