In a double-belt stretching tool for spinning frames, having a pair of supply rollers (i.e. a driven roller and an elastic counter-pressure roller) forming a supply clamping line into which a staple fiber tow is guided, a pair of belts forming a wedge with the fiber tow and a cover enclosing (and forming a narrow gap with) the periphery of the belts, the cover (18) is outside the wedge (15), the gap (17) is connected to the suction opening (19) of a reduced pressure line (20) and on interruption of spinning, both the cover and the suction opening are movable a short distance away from the supply rollers.
