The locking device has drive and control shaft (4) integrated with switch element (8) for reciprocal movement of the drive. The actuator (10) is coupled coaxially to the drive component. The drive component is linearly propellable by electrical linking (6,7) for the device, and whereby the actuator for the switch element moves in the same direction as the drive component. The drive mechanism extends the interlock component towards its pre stressed final position. The effective lever arms for the drive component and locking component are different. The bearing component of the locking element supports the housing component. The interlock and drive component move in relation to the movement of actuator. The device is provided with manually operable mechanical unlocking mechanism. A reed coil and transponder are provided for viewing safety relevant mechanism.
