The method involves evaluating a pulse of a pulse sequence, and converting the pulse into a load independent current, proportional to respective signal voltage amplitude, by a voltage-current converter. A capacitor (2), is charged using the current, whose voltage value is provided as an evaluated signal. The evaluated signal is used as an input signal for an A/D converter. The pulse is drawn for charging the capacitor.
