New light-stable modified bismuth oxide chloride pigment useful in e.g. pressure- and coating colors, lacquers, plastics and for cosmetics, buttons, artificial beads and fashionable accessories

Light-stable modified bismuth oxide chloride pigment (I) comprising further halogen (except chlorine) present in the periodic system (where the amount of halogen is 0.5-5%, related to total content of the halogen, other than chlorine), is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the preparation of (I); (2) preparation of pearlescent pigments comprising coating of (I) with glimmer powder; (3) method for crystallization and deagglomeration of bismuth oxide chloride pigments comprising high-speed agitation of precipitated liquid and addition of bismuth salt solution on the top of the drum in thin hardened stream; and (4) method for crystallization and deagglomeration of bismuth oxide chloride pigments comprising ultrasonic effect during or after separation of the pigments.
