In an open-end spinning rotor with a fiber sliding surface and a fiber collecting channel, where the surfaces contacting the fibers have a nickel-diamond coating consisting of a nickel dispersion layer incorporating diamond grains of specific size, the coating (at least in new condition) contains diamond particles projecting from the nickel dispersion layer, which contact the fibers and have a size of 0.1-0.4 mu m.
