The device has a hydraulic telescopic shock absorber cooperating with a bearing spring (26) that is supported at a spring seat (24). An auxiliary spring is connected with a hydraulic cavity (22) of the absorber for changing a common spring rate, where the cavity lies below a piston of the absorber. The seat is adjustable by a hydraulic device (28) whose hydraulic chamber (30) is connected with the cavity by a switchable valve.
