The adjusting device has a movable adjusting element and a printed circuit board (20) with two contact areas on which the sliding contact element (34) rolls out by movement of adjusting element. The contact area (22) has many, separated and consecutive, contact fields (26) and the second contact area (24) has one contact field (30,30,30") which extends along the contact fields of the first contact area. A control- and evaluation-unit (32) is provided for the sequential creation of electrical scan-signal on the contact field of the first contact area as well as for reception of electrical scan-signal of at least one of the contact field of the second contact area. The control- and evaluation unit detects the position of the sliding contact element along both contact areas. The moving position of the adjusting element with the location of each contact field of the first contact area, is provided along the second contact area, on which the electrical scan-signal lies by its reception of the second contact area.
