The method is for the spreading of glued fine (12) and coarse (11) material of varying size to form a mat on a preformed sheet (18) in the process of manufacturing of material panels, especially of orientated strand particle boards of material with lignocellulose content, whereby the spread mat is hardened by pressure and heat. The fine and coarse material is applied from a silo or hopper, mixed into a material flow (19) and by means of a spreading head (20) is spread on a preformed sheet to form a mat. The mixing of the material flow of fine and coarse material from the hoppers is carried out with consideration for a predetermined weight ratio. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a device for the uniform spreading of fine and coarse material to form a mat on a preformed sheet by application of the aforesaid method; and (B) a spreading head for the orientated and uniform spreading of fine and coarse materials.
