Impulse-formed steam emissions are produced by a impulse-activated ventilator (5). The impulses for the ventilator are synchronized with the wheel rotations of the locomotive by one or more wheel sensors. The heater (12) contains capillary tubes (13) which draw in steam oil (1) through capillary effect. It is located opposite the steam outlet (9) so that the steam collects in a steam supply chamber (2) before emission.
