A medical data processing system includes electronic chip cards (11-15) for cryptographic transportation and secure addressing, one chip card for the Doctor (11) containing the Doctor's details, one for the patient (12) containing the patients details, one for the patient identification service (13) of the pseudonymising service (17), one for the pseudonymising service (18), and one (15) for the data service (19). All of the chip cards also carry cryptographic utilities. A transaction identification (V#) may be generated from the patient identification service (17) and a response key (RSch) may be generated from the practice administration system (16), with which a medical data set (MDAT) can be supplemented with treatment data.
