The procedure for welding an end (2) of the tail pipe (1) of the vehicle exhaust system with flange plate (4) involves welding by the welding jig (8) at the joint (15) by two laser beams (10a, 10b, 10a1, 10b1) directed towards the joint and welding rod material (17) in wire form directed towards joint. The laser-welding jig is so arranged that the two laser beams are focused at the joint.
