Process for the production of automotive components

A method for producing a first formed and then surface-treated under heat component of a motor vehicle body provides for interactive simulation steps with variable tool geometry data of tools to be used for forming. In the process, it is always checked whether the expected geometric data of the component lie within the permissible tolerance range of the nominal geometric data of the component. If this is not the case, the tool geometry data and generation of corrected tool geometry data are changed. This is done in two stages, namely first for the forming steps and then for the process steps of surface treatment under the action of heat.
