The device has a deflecting device (24) for deflecting an exhaust gas stream from a thrust reverser, where the testing device has outer and inner boundary walls. The deflecting device has a deflecting area (30) and an outlet area (32), where the inner boundary wall has a curve in the deflecting area. A control equipment is arranged in the deflecting device for controlling the exhaust gas stream within the deflecting device. The outer and inner boundary walls of the deflecting device have curved outer surfaces. The deflecting device has a space for outer side of the engine in the area of the thrust reverser, in an operating condition.
