Agent (A), for coloring keratin fibers (preferably human hair) comprises 0.01-5 wt.% of 2-((4-(di(2-hydroxyethyl)amino)phenyl)amino)-5-((2-hydroxyethyl)-amino)-2,5-cyclohexadien-1,4-dione (HC green No. 1). An independent claim is also included for a method for tinting and/or coloring keratin fibers (preferably human hair) comprises optionally applying a pretreatment agent M1 on the fiber, followed by applying a tinting- or coloring agent M2 on the fiber (where optionally before the use of M2, a further agent M3 is added) and rinsing off M2 after 5-30 minutes and optionally after treating, applying a subsequent treating agent M4 on the fiber and rinsing off after an impact time, where the agents M1-M4 contains 0.01-5 wt.% of HC green No. 1.
