The method involves using a control unit (1) to regulate the ON and OFF switching operation of two vehicle light sources (2,3) based on a predetermined cyclic duration in reduced temperature condition. One light source (2) emits light with reduced intensity compared to the other light source (3). The temperature condition is determined based on the calibrated light emission intensity of the light sources. An independent claim is included for the control unit.
