The vapor extraction hood (11), placed over vapor sources, has a shrouding with at least one suction extraction zone (18) to draw air into a chimney (12) at the housing. The chimney is fitted with a filter unit composed of a grease filter (14) and an active carbon filter (15). The hood has a number of horizontal and spaced parallel disks or glass plates (16), forming suction flow channels (22) between them into suction zones and into the compressed filter structure in addition to the bottom suction openings (17).
