A method of representing the three-dimensional figure of a closed curve, especially of a spectacles-frame scanning device or a spectacles-glass edge processing machine, involves initially determining the three-dimensional figure in the form of x1-,y1-z1 coordinates, or by the r1-, theta 1, z1 coordinates, followed by representing the two-dimensional figure on the image screen by means of the x1-,y1- coordinates or the r1, theta 1 coordinates, and by vector addition of the z-coordinates to the radius r1(x1, y1) and then representing the figure zi + ri in superposition to the representation of the two-dimensional figure.
