The present invention relates to the receiving of the mass spectra of complex protein mixtures, frequently referred to as protein profiles, for example in the search for biomarkers, the stress situations, or for the identification of microbes. The protein profiles have been under by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization with a high detection quality received in linear time-of-flight mass spectrometers, however, show a very poor masses resolution and a very poor reproducibility of the values.The present invention provides a method, the surprisingly similar mass spectra shown, however, with a much higher mass resolution and masses of correctly. It is the ionization carried out outside of the vacuum at ambient pressure, preferably by vaporization and ci - post-ionization, and the ions analysis takes place in a high-resolution mass spectrometer instead of, for example a reflector - time-of-flight mass spectrometer having an orthogonal ions entry wound.
