Fixing element (1) comprises a holding section, a locking section and a spring element. The fixing element pivots on a side wall (8) of a housing (2) using the holding section. The locking section has a locking surface which is orientated slanted to the assembly plate (4) in the insertion position of the housing. The spring element is arranged on the fixing element in such a way that it presses the locking section against one edge of the assembly plate in the insertion position of the housing whilst the free end of the spring element is supported on the side wall of the housing. Preferred Features: The locking surface of the locking section has several teeth running parallel to each other by which one tooth forms a toothed arrangement in the insertion position of the housing depending on the thickness of the assembly plate.
