In a layer (A) consisting of several metallic elements, each element is a separated part of a metal foil. INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for: (1) the production of a layer of metallic elements, by supplying a metal foil to a chopping tool having several parallel separating tools and combining the obtained separated metallic elements to form the layer; and (2) a shaped article (10) including a layer (A).
