The assembly incorporates a seal (5), extending over part of its outer edge, so that the door can engage on the edge of a door opening via the seal. Before the door is fitted into a vehicle body, a section (5a) of the seal is located on the assembly in its functional position, while a further section (5b) is arranged in a transport position on the assembly, at a distance to the first position. When in functional position, the second section covers fastening points for the assembly, located on an inner door skin (1). The assembly also incorporates a window frame (F) and a door body with outer skin (3). The seal is at least partially mounted on a batten of plastic.
