The method involves reading a delivered email in an area so that information about hops is acquired from a header, where hops are computers via which the email is forwarded. The hops are verified whether they are found in black list based on the read email. The email is identified as a spam-email if the hops are found in the list. Internet protocol (IP) address of mail servers of the email is verified whether it is found in the list. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a software for a computer for implementation of a method for analyzing electronic mails (emails) (B) a data carrier for a computer (C) a computer system with a device and arrangement that allows an operational flow of a method for analyzing emails.
