The fixture has two sawing mechanisms (3) circulating in the same direction of motion. Separation planes of the mechanisms run parallel to each other and are spaced from each other. Transporting device (4) adjacent to the planes has a retaining unit (13). The unit is tiltably formed opposite to the mechanisms and is pivoted with its opening during sawing procedure in the direction of motion of the mechanisms. An independent claim is also included for a sawing procedure of firewood.
