The fuel supply system is in the form of a common rail fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine and has a fuel accumulating chamber with a seal constructed as an accumulator cover (3) built in two parts from the modules of a sealing element (4) and a control unit (5) in such a way that the sealing element is in sealed communication with the accumulator unit, and the control unit with regard to the pressure line (2) between the sealing element and fuel injector (1) can be optionally placed, and all functional units with regard to the fuel feed line and transmission line can be integrated in the control unit.
