The system has a memory controller (FC) with an internal memory (IR) and flash memory chips that are organized in individual erasable memory blocks, which contains a set of read and logical sectors for storing logical sectors. The logical sectors for communication with a host system are buffered in sector buffers and assigned by direct-flash-access-units between the sector buffers and the flash memory chips. An independent claim is also included for a process for writing a logical section from a host bus in a memory system.
