The connector has a connector housing with a passage opening for insertion of fiber optic cables, where the housing has guiding and clamping sections. Projections (14, 15) penetrate into casing of the cable by crimping, where the cable is fixed in a horizontal position. The projections are formed at a mounting part that is firmly inserted into the clamping section. The exterior of the part rests against the clamping section. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a fiber optic cable connector.
