The adapter is for the positive-locking connection of a drive shaft (2) and a ring form element (1) such as a hub, sleeve or hollow shaft. In the space between the shaft and ring-form element are ring-form discs of metal or plastic orientated at right angles to the axis of the shaft and the ring-form element, and encompass the end of the shaft and are arranged in series in the direction of the shaft axis. The external contour of the disc corresponds to the internal contour of the ring-form element, and the internal contour corresponds to the external contour of the shaft so that the discs fill the gap between the shaft and ring-form element by a permissible tolerance.
