The ureteroscope has a shaft (2) formed with an oval cross section at its distal ends. The shaft has a rounded nose (6) at the end, where the nose projects the cross section in the direction of a transverse axis. The nose is formed asymmetric to the axis such that a center line of the nose deviates from the axis with increasing radius. An optic and a light conductor are provided at a distal front surface.
