The method involves clock pulse synchronizing amplitude or phase-modulated received signal and transmission signal and estimating timing offset (epsilon) between received signal and transmission signal executed by maximum likelihood method. Non-linear signal processing function maintains alternating components in spectrum of pre-filtered remainder-sideband-modulated received signal (vVSB'(t)). The received signal is especially remainder-sideband-modulated received signal (rVSB'(t)). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Device for clock pulse modulation; (B) Digital storage medium with electronically selectable control signals; (C) Computer program product; and (D) Computer program with program code means.
