Apparatus (1) for producing a hollow molding (2) from outer and inner moldings (3, 4), using respective first and second molding devices (5, 6), includes a transporter (25) for target-controlled transport of the outer molding from the first molding device to the second molding device, where the transporting device includes at least one heater (30) for locally heating the outer molding during transport. An independent claim is included for a corresponding production method using the apparatus, involving: (1) positive molding of the outer molding (3) in the first molding device (5); (2) transporting the product to the second molding device (6) using the transporter (25), while heating the product using the heater(s) (30); (3) negative molding of the inner molding (4) in the second molding device (6); and (4) pressing the heated outer molding onto the inner molding using a demolding device (22).
