The damper has a damping unit for coupling two masses in a rotational manner about a rotational axis of an engine crankshaft (12).The damping unit comprises a set of coil springs situated in series and disposed within the divided portions of a ring-shaped chamber (25). A friction part slidably disposed between neighboring coil springs rub against an inner wall and an outer wall of the ring shaped chamber.
