Optical data signal regenerating method for transmission system, involves measuring received output of optical data signal and adjusting sampling threshold as function of received output corresponding to preset logarithmic function
The method involves converting an optical data signal (DSO) into an electrical data signal by a photo diode. The electrical signal is then fed into a sampling circuit (AS) provided with an adjustable sampling threshold. Received output of the optical data signal is measured by a measuring and controlling unit (MSE1). The sampling threshold is adjusted as a function of the received output corresponding to a preset logarithmic function. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for regeneration of optical data signal.
