The arrangement has a navigation supported patient transport unit (1) e.g. chair, with a drive system (2) and a control system (3). The drive system is controlled by the control system. A navigation route (4) and an eye tracking system (5) stays in connection with the control system. A sensor provided for detecting obstacles is connected with the control system. The patient transport unit is positionable in X-Y-Z direction. An independent claim is also included for a method of positioning a patient and eye for ophthalmologic diagnosis and therapy.
