The cable (1) has an electrical conductor (2), a rectangular cross section and several parallel strip shaped segments (4) that are provided at its end. The strip shaped segments are arranged such that regions of the segments that form the end of the cable are provided with flat sides that lie on top of each other. The cable is embedded in a casing that is made of an insulating material (3). An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a flat conductor ribbon cable.
