The method involves injecting the body with a known test bolus of contrast medium, preferably into a blood vessel, and preferably intravenously, and having a known injection flow path. The change in concentration over time at at least one location in the body is observed and determined using a tomographic process over a limited period of time with several measurement points. The contrast medium concentration changes over time of another contrast medium is predicted from the measurement data about the distribution of the contrast medium and using a linear cause and effect relationship and a given equation.
