The cover has front and rear covering sections (7, 8) loaded by a spring unit in a normal position. The sections evade from backwards and eventually upwards or downwards when a front edge of the front section contacts a luggage piece during closing of a tailgate. The sections act against the spring action and are folded based on the length and size of the piece during the tailgate closing such that the tailgate pivots at a rear window. The loading space cover pivots in a direction of the rear window when the tailgate is in a loading position.
