A distributed amplifier in which each unit-cell (16,18,20) has a frequency-multiplier with an input amplifier (60) and an output amplifier (62). A control connection (64) of the input amplifier (60) is connected to the input network (12) and a current connection (66) of the input amplifier (60) is connected to the control connection (68) of the output amplifier (62) and via a diode to a current connection (72) of the output amplifier (62), and the current outputs (74,76) of the input amplifier (60) and the output amplifier (62) are interconnected.
