A method of limiting external magnetic fields in high-voltage overhead lines having at least two three-phase AC systems comprises attaching a two-phase line of a system to a crosspiece and the third phase line to another crosspiece at a different height on the other side of the mast. Two equal phases (R1,R2) are at the same height while the other four phases (S1,S2,T1,T2) are diagonally opposite one another. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Five overhead line masts as above; (B) A hybrid mast system; (C) Two field reduction processes;and (D) A spacer for the above.
