The method involves dividing a bi-convex lens or a planar convex lens in direction of an optical axis in four pieces, and polishing the four edge surfaces of the pieces. Sections of the lens are positioned dependent on an optical refractive index of the materials and the wavelength. The light entrance on the surface takes place with large cross section, and the light emission on the surface takes place with the small cross section. An independent claim is also included for an application of an optical concentrator.
