The tool has a tool body made of hard metal (8), and a cutting edge (3) arranged in a disk recess (4) at the tool body. A cooling duct or channel is provided near the cutting edge and inlets having several cooling ducts are arranged at a front surface of a shaft end of the tool, facing a working end of the tool. The cooling ducts are formed by holes. An independent claim is included for a method for the production of a tool.
