The bayonet groove (23) is wider than the bayonet studs (5). An axial stop limits the plug-in depth of the bayonet plug (2) into the bayonet sleeve (3). This is an axial stop of the bayonet plug acting against the bayonet sleeve, or a rod (26) introduced from below, up to an axial support face in the bayonet sleeve. The design holds the bayonet studs with spacing from the side wall of the groove extension (23), which in the longitudinal direction of the coupling, lies remote from the groove entry section (21) : An independent claim is included for the corresponding method of use.
