The device for automatic sealing of glass containers with glass stoppers with a fitted seal comprising a setting head (3) with a pusher unit (9) and a setting unit (12), and a feed unit (1) for the glass stoppers (2). A separating chamber is provided in the setting head, in which there is space for only one glass stopper. The setting unit in the sealing axis has means by which both the centering of glass stoppers and also of the glass container in relation to each other takes place. A setting piston is located co-axially in the setting unit.
