The device (20) is fitted with vertically radiating ultrasonic sensors (21a) for wall thickness testing and with obliquely radiating ultrasonic sensors (21b, 21c) for crack testing, all of which are individual test heads, i.e. ultrasonic sensors (21) with an ultrasonic oscillator. The sensors for wall thickness testing and the sensors for crack testing are grouped in respective geometric field arrangements. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a segment connected to an inventive supporting plate (B) a sensor supporting body (C) a scraper (D) and a method of ultrasonic testing of pipelines.
