The device has a perforated mirror (22) arranged in a stimulation light path and an emission light path between the light source (10) and a detector (28), so stimulation light falls on the specimen (4) via the hole (20) in the mirror and light emitted from the specimen is reflected by the mirror surface (30) around the hole. An objective lens (24) is arranged with its focal point near the specimen.
