The connection unit is arranged between a housing (10) and an exhaust pipe (16). A guide surface (30) is provided on an inner side of the connection unit. The guide surface is arranged transverse to the main stream direction of the exhaust gas to give an angular momentum to the exhaust gas stream. The guide surface is either formed by a guide plate or by plastic formed wall sections of the connection unit.
