The device has a reverse lever (7) hinged to a coupler (3) or a component (1) of a hood of a motor vehicle. The lever (7) rests against a released adjusting lever (5), so that the lever (5) is moved into the pre-stressed normal use position via the reverse lever (7), by the displacement of the hood. The reverse lever allows the lead back of the lever (5), so that a larger lever arm is provided for the lead back of the lever (5).
