The microtome (10) has fixing units provided to adjustably set neighboring microtome components. The fixing units are provided with a common clamping mechanism (36) and one eccentric shaft (38) with a number of eccentric cams (44,46). The eccentric cams are allocated to appropriate microtome components at certain angles. Tension bolts (48,50) or pressure plates are arranged between respective eccentric cams and associated microtome components. The microtome also includes a measuring carrier (14) adjustably arranged on a microtome base (12).
