The method involves mounting link (4), roller (5) and small roller (6) in the sprocket (3) of an escalator or passenger conveyor. The magnet body (9) is positioned in the intake region of sprocket over which, parts of the plate link chain (2) moves around in a given stroke before their intake in the sprocket. An independent claim is also included for the device for executing the method.
